British Virgin, Islands, September 27, 2024 — Bool Network is a decentralized verification network that aims to enhance Bitcoin’s role in decentralized finance (DeFi). It seeks to make Bitcoin the cornerstone of a trustless, decentralized financial system by allowing it to interact with other decentralized applications and blockchains. This opens up new opportunities for Bitcoin holders, including self-custodied BTCFi, restaking, and cross-chain interoperability.
Currently, Bitcoin’s lack of smart contract support limits its use cases. Users often need to entrust their assets to third parties for custody, raising concerns about the safety and accessibility of their funds. Key questions include: How can users protect their assets from theft or withholding? How can they reclaim their Bitcoin without needing permission from custodians? These are critical challenges that need solutions.
To address these issues, Bool Network introduces the Dynamic Hidden Committee (DHC) concept. This approach utilizes Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP), Multi-Party Computation (MPC), and Trusted Execution Environments (TEE). The DHC consists of randomly selected, permissionless, and anonymous nodes that rotate dynamically. Bool Network’s unique Ring VRF algorithm, combined with ZKP, ensures privacy by keeping the identities of the selected nodes confidential, even from the nodes themselves.
Bool Network also incorporates a mechanism on the Bitcoin chain akin to a forced withdrawal or escape pod. This system uses technologies such as pre-signed transactions, Taproot, and timelocks, giving users complete control over their Bitcoin. In critical situations, they can withdraw their assets securely and trustlessly. By integrating the Dynamic Hidden Committee (DHC) with Taproot and other technologies, Bool Network removes the reliance on centralized intermediaries.
The Bool Network ecosystem includes partnerships and academic collaborations that support its mission to enhance Bitcoin’s role in decentralized finance. Collaborating with organizations like Babylon, Nervos, and Bitlayer, the platform aims to improve scalability, security, and interoperability. With the launch of its public testnet, Bool Network encourages developers and users to explore its features and contribute to the ecosystem. The testnet offers opportunities to experience self-custodied BTCFi, cross-chain transactions, and BTC restaking.
About Bool Network
